Facebook: Ridding the Workforce of Idiots Since 2004

Posted by Chris DeMarco on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 at 6:05 pm

Many people (like the one below) do not realize that employers, colleges, and other institutions that have the ability to accept/deny people often take social networking and media profiles into consideration as part of the process. Further, many institutions continually monitor their employees’/students’/etc profiles even after they have approved someone, for the entire time that person is with that particular institution. This allows them to constantly keep that person under review.

While this does present creepy privacy concerns, it does have a bright side. It helps “prune” the workforce and educational system of morons that have absolutely no common sense (see picture).

Oops, that is why I never mention my job on any online source.

I love the trend of these posts (not on just this site) stating that they can search you…
How? Did you add them? WHY? Is there some official policy that states you have to add co-workers/bosses? Why in your right mind would you?

The ability to simply blab on these social networking sites proves people need to be fired if they are dumb enough.

But they have no way of being able to check you if you do not add them. I do not, nor will I ever, expect to get fired from my job due to social sites because I am not daft enough to stroke my own ego on line, er I mean post about how any thing that matters online.

If you (a person posting, not the poster of this “story”) have no filter for your brain, you are sadly deserving of being fired.
